Patriot Park was dedicated on November 11, 2004 and features a Douglas A4-L Skyhawk Attack Bomber as it’s centerpiece. Loaned to the City of Covington by the National Museum of Naval Aviation, the bomber underwent extensive renovation prior to its installation at the park.
Fisher Arnold was honored to have worked on the project. Rather than a static display, a mounting system was devised by researching and copying a system used on a similar plane in Florida to mount the airplane with a pipe system attached to the engine mounts. This system was approved by the NMNA as well as the Naval Inventory Control Point (NAVICP) where the aircraft loan agreement was transferred.
