Improvements along Vollintine Avenue were designed to enhance pedestrian mobility, improve safety, and provide safer routes for students traveling to and from Vollintine Elementary School. The project included sidewalk enhancements, mid-block crosswalks, upgraded intersection crossings, and other safety improvements to better accommodate school drop-off and pick-up activities. Dedicated bicycle lanes were also incorporated into the roadway corridor to promote multimodal transportation and improve connectivity within the community.
Fisher Arnold collaborated closely with the City of Memphis, community stakeholders, and the Accelerate Memphis Program to develop a comprehensive streetscape and transportation improvement plan that addressed both safety and accessibility goals. Services provided by Fisher Arnold included surveying, master planning, landscape architecture, pedestrian and crosswalk design, and roadway engineering.
