We were retained by the Tennessee Board of Regents and partnered with Haizlip Studio to design the new University Center building at the University of Memphis. The University Center supports the educational mission of the University by providing high-quality facilities, equipment, and services. In addition, this new facility enhances the Division of Student Affairs’ mission of “students learning through engagement” by scheduling and supporting programs that promote student interaction, involvement, and learning. The new $45m University Center includes a spectacular sky-lit atrium, 24-hour learning commons, student organization and support offices, a 1000-seat dividable ballroom, a 350-seat theatre, meeting and conference rooms, a food court with seven dining options, an on-site restaurant and various outdoor terraces.
