A major North American pulp and paper producer decided to undergo a $100m rebuild on an asset, including a new headbox and press section, over the course of several outages. During the project assessment, it was identified that internal resources for the effort were conflicted with other assignments, and external support was needed. With the additional support provided, the Mill’s engineering staff was able to accomplish the project along with meeting the other needs of the outages in the agreed upon schedule. The success of the machine rebuild is regarded as a model example among their other manufacturing locations.
