Memphis Fire Station No. 5 relocated to 400 Adams Avenue in downtown Memphis in 2021 and we provided surveying and site engineering for the new station building, designed by Fleming Architects.  Located on an existing property that includes maintenance facilities for the Memphis Fire Department, the design involved a comprehensive demolition plan, creation of parking spaces on the east side of the vacated High Street, and implementation of several imposed conditions related to the street closure, including providing a pedestrian easement from Adams Street to High Street, placement of removal bollards blocking off High Street from Washington Avenue, and special foundation and base treatment for the building and parking areas due to unsuitable soil conditions.
