The State Coalition for Remediation of Dry Cleaners reports that "there are approximately 36,000 active dry cleaning facilities in the United States, and an estimated 75% of these are probably contaminated". This includes commercial, industrial and coin-operated facilities where soil and groundwater have been contaminated by dry cleaning solvents. In addition, there are an unknown number of former dry cleaning sites that are also contaminated. Since dry cleaning facilities are located in urban areas, dry cleaning solvent contamination has impacted a large number of public water supply wells and threatens many other wellfields.
F&A is currently registered as a State of Tennessee Dry Cleaning Corrective Action Contractor (DCAC). With multiple dry cleaning sites in various stages of study and remediation, F&A is quite qualified to complete an environmental evaluation of your active or abandoned dry cleaning facility.
