The 1990 Clean Air Act Amendments set limits on how much of a pollutant can be in the air anywhere in the United States. One of the major requirements in this legislation is a permit program for larger sources that release pollutants into the air. EPA lists the regulated air pollutants as ozone, volatile organic compounds (VOC's), nitrogen dioxide, carbon monoxide, particulate matter, sulfur dioxide, and lead. EPA also identified specific chemicals known as hazardous air pollutants (HAPS) to be regulated.
F&A has assembled a team of chemical engineers and industrial specialists to assist in state-by-state air permitting for your industrial process. Title V air permitting, construction permitting, record keeping, and enforcement consulting, are all areas where we can augment your environmental team.
Including the Mid-South states of Tennessee, Mississippi, and Arkansas, F&A has prepared air permits in Texas and Iowa, as well as consulted on air permitting matters in many other states.
In addition to many other processes, the following are representative industrial sources that we have permitted for our clients:
• Coatings
• Glass Beads
• Grinding
• Wood / Lumber
• Refineries
